Project Overview

This project, undertaken by China Construction Environmental Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a leading domestic environmental protection company, aims to achieve efficient treatment and complete resource recovery of power plant desulfurization wastewater, achieving the environmental goal of "zero discharge." Hebei Weitong FRP Co., Ltd., a professional manufacturer of high-performance composite materials, successfully manufactured the system's core equipment—the large FRP concentrator. Its superior product performance and technical service laid a solid foundation for the project's successful implementation.

Core Challenges and Technical Requirements

Desulfurization wastewater is highly saline, hard, and corrosive, placing extremely high demands on the comprehensive performance of the concentrator:

Tall and Thin" Structural Challenge

The equipment stands at 20.15 meters tall, while its diameter is only 4.2 meters. This high height-to-diameter ratio places severe demands on the equipment's overall rigidity, wind load and seismic resistance, and verticality control.

Severe Corrosive Environment

Chloride ions, sulfate ions, and various heavy metal ions in the wastewater are highly corrosive and permeable to equipment materials, requiring the tower material to possess excellent corrosion and aging resistance.

Long-Term Stable Operation

As a core equipment in continuous operation, it must ensure safety and reliability throughout its 20-year design lifespan, avoiding unplanned system downtime due to corrosion, leakage, deformation, and other issues.

Strict Installation Requirements

The verticality of the equipment and the accuracy of tower internals (such as water distributors and packing supports) directly impact the system's concentration efficiency and energy consumption, requiring precise and accurate installation.

Customized Structural Design

Advanced Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) technologies were used to precisely calculate and optimize the tower structure. By scientifically designing the number of winding layers and implementing localized reinforcements, the rigidity and stability challenges of the "tall, thin" tower were perfectly addressed, ensuring structural safety under various operating conditions.

Top-tier Corrosion-Resistant Material System

The inner lining utilizes high-quality vinyl ester resin, offering excellent resistance to high temperatures, mixed acid and alkali corrosion, and low permeability, providing the first and most critical protective barrier for the equipment.


The structural layer utilizes alkali-free glass fiber and a high-performance isophenylene/vinyl resin system. Precision winding is performed using a computer-controlled winding machine, ensuring uniform thickness and precise resin content. This results in a tower with high strength, rigidity, and excellent corrosion fatigue resistance.

Precision Manufacturing and Quality Control

A segmented winding process, employed in a constant-temperature workshop, ensures precise manufacturing of even large-scale products. We strictly adhere to the ISO9001 quality management system, conducting rigorous testing at every stage from raw material storage to finished product shipment, including resin cure, Barcol hardness, wall thickness, and non-destructive testing to ensure zero-defect product quality.

Professional Transportation and Installation Guidance

A thorough transportation plan ensures the safe arrival of large equipment sections at the project site.


An experienced engineering and technical team provides on-site installation guidance, utilizing high-precision instruments for measurement and calibration to ensure precise alignment of tower sections and overall verticality that fully meets design requirements, guaranteeing seamless connection with system piping.
