Fiberglass Pipe Fittings, Special-Shaped Parts, and Profiles

Fiberglass Cross and Tee

Fiberglass tees and crosses are key fittings used to divert or merge fluids in fiberglass piping systems. Their design and manufacturing quality are crucial to the balance and stability of the system.

I. Types and Specifications

1. Fiberglass Tees

This is the most common type and is primarily categorized as follows:

Equal Diameter Tees

The main and branch pipes have identical diameters.

Applications: Where fluid needs to be evenly distributed or branches with equal flow rates are required.

Reducing Diameter Tees

The branch pipe has a smaller diameter than the main pipe.

Applications: Where a branch pipe with a smaller flow rate is required to be diverted from the main pipe.

Angled Tees

The branch pipe connects to the main pipe at an acute angle (usually 45°) rather than a right angle.

Applications: This design significantly reduces fluid resistance, turbulence, and erosion. Angled Tees are particularly preferred when conveying slurries containing solid particles.

2. Fiberglass Crosses

Equal Diameter Crosses: All four ports have identical diameters.

Reducing Diameter Crosses: One or more ports have a different diameter than the others. Angled Cross: Branches are connected with a beveled design.

Application: Used in more complex pipe network layouts requiring simultaneous bidirectional flow diversion or merging.

II. Fiberglass tees and crosses are the "crossroads" of the piping system and are core components for complex fluid distribution. Their technical key lies in:

Scientific opening reinforcement design to address stress concentration.

Optimized fluid dynamics profiles (such as the use of angled tees) to reduce energy consumption and wear.

Reliable manufacturing processes (winding is superior to hand lay-up) to ensure structural integrity.

Proper installation and support to balance internal stresses.

When selecting and using them, they must be considered as pressure-bearing structures and fluid units, not just simple connectors, to ensure efficient, safe, and long-term operation of the entire piping network.
