Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic Sand-Filled Pipe

FRP sand-filled pipe is a composite pipe based on FRP spiral pipe, with quartz sand added as a reinforcement material within the structural layer. Its typical structure is: inner lining (resin-rich layer, corrosion and seepage prevention) → structural layer (glass fiber provides strength) → sand-filled layer (resin + quartz sand, providing stiffness and reducing costs) → outer protective layer (anti-aging and external corrosion protection).

The design of FRP sand-filled pipe cleverly combines the advantages of multiple materials, resulting in the following outstanding features:

Extremely high stiffness and resistance to external pressure

Core Purpose: The primary function of the sand-filled layer is to significantly increase the pipe's hoop stiffness. The quartz sand and resin mix form a hard "composite mortar" layer, enabling the pipe to effectively withstand the immense external pressure of soil loads, live ground loads (such as vehicles), and groundwater, preventing deformation and flattening.

Strong designability: By adjusting the thickness of the sand layer, pipes with different stiffness grades (e.g., SN5000, SN10000) can be flexibly produced to meet the requirements of varying burial depths and geological conditions.

Excellent Corrosion Resistance

Inherits all the corrosion-resistant advantages of fiberglass reinforced plastic pipes. The inner lining, composed of a high resin content and a felt surface, provides an excellent corrosion and seepage barrier.

Application Value: Can be buried directly in corrosive soils without additional anti-corrosion treatment. When used to transport corrosive media such as sewage, rainwater, and reclaimed water, its service life far exceeds that of concrete and cast iron pipes.

Smooth Inner Surface

Absolute roughness is only 0.0084, Manning coefficient n=0.009, and hydraulic friction resistance is extremely low.

Lightweight and Easy to Install

Density is approximately 1.6-2.0 g/cm³, only 1/10 that of concrete pipe and 1/4 that of steel pipe.

Excellent Strength and Toughness

The fiberglass structural layer provides high axial and hoop tensile strength, enabling the pipe to withstand internal water pressure and certain settlement deformation.

Unlike rigid concrete pipe, it possesses a certain degree of toughness, adapting to minor foundation settlements or earthquakes, and exhibiting strong resistance to foundation deformation.

Ultra-Long Service Life and Low Maintenance

Corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant, and age-resistant, it boasts a design service life typically exceeding 50 years.

It requires virtually no maintenance throughout its lifecycle, eliminating the frequent inspection and replacement required by traditional pipes due to corrosion and scaling, resulting in extremely high overall economic benefits.

Summary

Grit-filled fiberglass pipe is a high-performance composite material designed for large diameters, heavy loads, and corrosive environments. Its unique "sand-filled" structure successfully combines the corrosion resistance of fiberglass with the high rigidity of concrete pipe, while also offering lightweight, hydraulically superior performance, and a long service life. It is a modern and ideal alternative to traditional pipes for underground pipeline construction in municipal and water conservancy projects, ensuring long-term, safe operation.
