Processing Technology:

Large storage tank processing methods include vertical winding and horizontal winding. Our company currently primarily utilizes the vertical winding method. Compared to the horizontal method, the vertical method successfully solves the problems of large-diameter tanks being unable to be fully wound and limited on-site space. Furthermore, because the tanks are demolded vertically, they are prevented from tilting during demolding, ensuring product quality.

Production Requirements:

Large tanks require production equipment to be transported to the customer's site for processing. Therefore, the customer must provide the following processing facilities:

● Suitable vessel foundation

● Processing area >10 x 15 m

● Power supply connected to the edge of the processing area, voltage 380V/220V, power ≥30kW

● Fire water source within 100 m

On-Site Fabrication Process

Building a large fiberglass tank on-site follows a controlled, engineered sequence:

● Foundation and site survey, followed by equipment mobilization to the project location

● Assembly of the filament winding machine and mold sized to the required tank diameter

● Application of the corrosion-resistant liner layer, followed by computer-guided filament winding of the structural shell

● Installation of nozzles, manways, ladders, and other fittings per project specification

● Controlled curing, followed by hydrostatic testing and dimensional inspection before handover

Every stage follows the same quality control checkpoints used in our factory production, so project owners receive a large fiberglass tank built to the same standard regardless of where the winding takes place.

Once a fiberglass storage tank's diameter grows large enough, transporting a factory-finished shell becomes impractical or impossible — oversized loads face road, bridge, and route restrictions that a project schedule often cannot absorb. Large fiberglass tanks solve this problem at the source: instead of building the tank in our workshop and shipping the finished vessel, our engineering team mobilizes filament winding equipment and mold systems directly to your project site, then winds the tank shell in place, layer by layer, to the exact diameter your project requires.
